The apostle Paul knew what it was like to have your brethren desert you when you need them the most. In 2 Timothy 1:15-18, Paul mentions two brothers by name who did just that. The good news is, not every Christian was ashamed of Paul’s chains. Onesiphorus provides an example opposite of Phygelus and Hermogenes. Instead of deserting Paul, Onesiphorus went through great difficulty and sacrifice to refresh Paul and serve the Lord.
