“Men and Violence” (Under the Juniper Tree S9E8)

  • ·         “But something is amiss for men as well. Men commit 90 percent of homicides in the United States and represent 77 percent of homicide victims. They’re the demographic group most at risk of being victimized by violent crime.”
  • ·         Problem #1: Work is not cited.’
  • ·         FBI Records for 2017: 87.5% of all homicides were committed by males.
  • o   How many murders was that? 8,383
  • o   What percentage of all crimes committed by males did it account for? 0.1%
  • ·         My purpose behind pointing this out is not to say that murder is not a terrible thing.
  • o   One thing God hates is the shedding of innocent blood (Prov. 6:16-17).
  • o   The problem with the article is the wording.
  • o   It points to a problem but does not gives the totality of the problem.
  • o   In fact, it seems to be written in such a way that one might automatically assume the worse of males.
  • o   Christians should do due diligence to find out the details and the truth behind any subject.
