“Men and Health” (Under the Juniper Tree S9E7)

Under the Juniper Tree Season 9, Episode 7 for Tuesday, April 9, 2019
APA reports that men are less likely to seek medical attention and eat less vegetables than females. ·         Why?                       o   One reason deals with difficulty to express their fears. o   Another is that men seem to have a lesser knowledge of medical issues than females. Due to this  men tend to seek medical attention later until a condition is much worse. Often this causes much more difficulties. ·         What does this often lead to? o   Early male death. o   Greater heart issues. o   Greater rates of Type 2 Diabetes. ·         What do we need to learn from this? o   We, as men, need to be better educated concerning our own health. o   We should be willing to see the doctor when things are not going well. o   This does not mean that see a doctor for every sniffle but when serious signs are beginning to show, it would be a good idea to see someone. ·         Men, we play a valuable role in the church. o   That includes the need to be the example to younger Christian men (Titus 2:1-2, 6)
