o   Treat Others the Way YOU want to be Treated

§  Matt. 7:12

o   Do Not Be a Firestarter

§  As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife. (Prov. 26:21).

§  High School Fight

§  Peace cannot come when we are constantly trying to fan the flames.

o   Seek the Best For Those Who Wage War

§  Rom. 12:17-21

§  Often, when war is declared on us, we want to fight back.

§  When we see our enemies hurting, we want take part in a little schadenfreude (German word for taking pleasure in the pain of others).

§  God has called on Christians to be better people. If vengeance is to be brought forth, God will be the one enacts it.

§  What do we do? We show proper Biblical love.

o   Suffer the Wrong

§  1 Cor. 6:1-7

§  Context: Christians in Corinth constantly taking each other to court over problems to the church’s hurt.

§  This is a bitter pill to swallow.

§  This is a big one for preachers. If we have been hurt it might be easy for us to try to scream out to the rest of the congregation of how we have been hurt by an eldership, a group of men, or those who have no right to hold any power. To what end do we want to do it?

§  Sometimes, in order to keep peace we have to swallow the bitter pill.

§  The Master suffered the wrong for us all.

We want to hear from you!
