Under the Juniper Tree Season 7, Episode 6 for Tuesday, March 6, 2018
Depression
o Studies have shown strong correlation between depression and pornography usage in teenagers.
o Furthermore, studies by Kevin Skinner has shown that men (married or single) who consume pornography on a regular basis (3-5 times a week) suffer from more severe depression than those who do not view it as often or at all.
o That being said, I understand that correlation is not causation.
o Dr. Skinner even admitted that it could be that severely depressed people are using porn as a coping mechanism OR that people are suffering from severe depression because of porn usage.
o But there is one thing that’s clear — people who regularly view porn are experiencing more severe depression issues than those who do not.
o There may be a huge link between the chemical imbalance that occurs during porn usage.
Erectile Dysfunction
o Do not have time to go through the process of how one gets an erection. There’s a link below. There are many bodily chemicals such as dopamine, nitric oxide, peptides, and gCMB.
o Men under 40 who are in good health should not experience it. In fact, many men who suffer from it could help the situation through exercise.
o More and more teenagers are suffering from ED than ever before.
§ Granted, there are a number of issues which could cause this problem.
§ Lack of exercise, obesity, heart issues.
§ Depression (take note above).
§ Chemical imbalances (too much prolactin in the system).
§ The most interesting was guilt and shame caused by religion. (Prov. 5:1-14; Prov. 5:15-19).
o You know what those lists won’t show? Porn addiction.
§ Studies on the link between sexual dysfunction and porn usage is a new subject. Some studies seem to show there is and some seems to show there isn’t.
§ The most recent scientific study (not article on random website) was done in 2016 and showed a connection between consumption and the dysfunction.
