Episode Notes:
When God tells us to do something, it is serious business. It is not only important that we are obedient, but that we are completely obedient, paying special attention not only to what He said to do, but HOW He said to do it.
We realize that we do not live under the Old Testament law anymore. The Law of Moses was taken out of the way, having been nailed to the cross of Jesus (Eph. 2:15-16; Col. 2:14). However, the Old Testament is valuable to us because of the lessons that we can learn from it. It was written for our learning (Rom. 15:4) to provide examples for us (1 Cor. 10:11).
Here are the four examples discussed in this episode:
- Moses struck the rock – Num. 20:7-12
- Saul disobeyed God in Amalek – 1 Sam. 15
- Cain’s unacceptable sacrifice – Gen. 4
- Nadab and Abihu died – Lev. 10:1-2
