“Boldness To Enter Into Worship” (Ready to Worship S10E8)

Ready to Worship Season 10, Episode 8 for Friday, October 18, 2019
This season on Ready to Worship, we are discussing the attitude that we are to have as we come to worship. In this portion of our study, we are going to consider an attitude of boldness. I will admit that I struggle with this attitude more than some of the others. I don’t struggle with a spirit of unworthiness or fear. I think that I have those down. However, boldness is another story. I have to constantly remind myself of who I am; or, better yet, whose I am.  I am God’s child. I am in God’s beloved Son. This relationship changes everything. To the saints at Ephesus, Paul wrote, “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him” (Eph. 3:12). In Christ, we have boldness and confidence. Because we are in Christ, and because He is our High Priest, we can come boldly unto the throne of grace (Heb. 4:15-16). In the tenth chapter of Hebrews, we read, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Heb. 10:19-23). Because of Jesus and His blood, we can draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith. We don’t have to shrink with fear or waver as we approach God. We are His child and He is a loving Father. Please understand that I am not suggesting that we can be flippant or presumptuous in our approach to God. We must be reverent, humble, and obedient. However, we must also be bold. Think of how you approached your father when you were a child. You knew the rules. You knew that he demanded respect. Yet, hopefully, you also knew that you could run into his arms and that he would lovingly receive you as his child. As we get ready to worship this week, let’s remember whose we are and what has been done for us. If we will do this, then we can worship with great boldness.

We want to hear from you!
