God, through His timing, had worked out that Naomi and Ruth returned to Bethlehem at the start of the barley harvest. Because of provisions in the Law of Moses, Ruth was able to harvest the edges of the fields and follow the reapers to get what was left for her and her mother-in-law. She ends up in the field of Boaz, kin to Naomi, who goes out of his way to help her. Though these events may seem ordinary, they demonstrate the provision, providence, and blessings of God.
