Have you ever heard the phrase, “Follow your gut” or “Let your conscience be your guide?” Most men assume that if they have been appointed to leadership role or entrusted with the headship of the home, then they must able to trust their inner voice of reason and wisdom. Sometimes our guts push us down a path to good decisions, but they can also lead us astray. How do we know we can trust our gut and when we can’t? This week, Wayne attempts to address this question.
There are a series of 7 things that must be true if we are going to trust our gut. We should ask these 7 questions.
- Have I truly made Jesus Lord of my life?
- Is the Word of God the basis for my daily decisions?
- Do I have a strong desire to obey God?
- Do I prayerfully consider all major decisions when there is time to pray?
- Am I alarmed at even the thought of sinning?
- Do I feel genuine/immediate guilt when I do something wrong?
- I am internally forced to repent when I have committed sin?
