Powerless Preaching (Authentically Adam S3E5)

Host: Wayne Jones  |  Released Wednesday, March 3, 2021
Many episodes of this podcast are dedicated to general issues regarding leadership, masculinity, and manhood. Sometime, however, we must specific in addressing the various roles that men are called to fulfill in the course of life. In the church, God has instructed men to be the teachers and preachers in the general church gatherings. Thus, it is necessary to address the role of preaching and teaching if we are fully going to address the role of men in the church. This week’s episode does just that.

The backdrop of our discussion centers on a story of powerless failing by a prophet’s servant recorded in 2 Kings 4. Using what would have been considered to be a powerful tool, the servant was powerless to accomplish his task. In like manner, there is great power in the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, but our attitudes and approaches to it could render our efforts powerless and worthless.

We want to hear from you!

Credit is given to The Black Suits for the music for Authentically Adam. Three young men who mean a great deal to me wrote and recorded this music in their teenage years. They helped me to be more authentic and spiritual. Shane, Kyle, and Daniel, I love you guys more than you know. Shane, I hope to see you again one day.
