If we were not already a people prone to negativity, the events of the past year have certainly turned many to pessimism and gloom. As men and as leaders those who trust us and follow us need a positive, enthusiastic example. Yet, the Bible is full of reminders that even the best among us can turn sour. Moses, Abraham, and Elijah are just some who come to mind.
In this weeks’ episode of Authentically Adam, we look at another example of negativity that impacted an entire family. Genesis 42 and 43 tell part of a larger story about the life of Joseph and how God used him and his brothers to advance heaven’s initiative. As we narrow in on this part of their journey we learn that…
- Negativity often feeds on false information
- Negativity tends to lead to exaggeration
- Negativity can be made worse by those close to us
- Negativity can hurt other people as much as it hurts us
- Negativity often hinders or delays the will of the Lord
We close the show by offering a one-step solution to negativity, thus providing a one-step solution for more positive leadership.
