“Men & Mentors” with David B. Jones (Authentically Adam S2E5)

Authentically Adam Season 2, Episode 5 for Wednesday, September 16, 2020
This week Wayne invites his father, David Jones, to be a part of the show and to discuss the value of mentors. David is the director of the McCarty Student Center which serves as a place of study and social gathering for students on the campus of Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. You can visit their website at https://mccartystudentcenter.com.

Everyone needs a role model and an example to follow. More importantly, we need someone who will invest time in our spiritual and mental development. Imagine trying to navigate all of the difficulties of manhood, fatherhood, and marriage without any one to shepherd or guide you. Even Jesus employed the mentor-model of development with his 12 trusted disciples. In this episode Wayne and David share their personal mentoring stories while also addressing what the Bible has to say about the value and importance of investing in the next generation. Finally, they offer some practical advice for establishing relationships that will lead to opportunities to mentor other men. As described in the show, here is the link to the 222 Mentoring program offered by Dale & Jeff Jenkins via the Jenkins Institute: http://www.thejenkinsinstitute.com/about-222

We want to hear from you!

Credit is given to The Black Suits for the music for Authentically Adam. Three young men who mean a great deal to me wrote and recorded this music in their teenage years. They helped me to be more authentic and spiritual. Shane, Kyle, and Daniel, I love you guys more than you know. Shane, I hope to see you again one day.
