What is TLN?

It is incumbent upon every generation of God’s people to “preach the Gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). To do that effectively, the Message of the Cross must be broadcast through whatever mediums are available and Christians must be equipped for the task. The Light Network, a web-based network of Christian podcasts, seeks to encourage, enlighten, and empower the church of Christ to do just that.

On January 5th, 2013, The Light Network will go live. Immediately a database of Christian content will become available to Christians particularly and the world generally. At launch, TLN will feature eight regularly scheduled podcasts as well as a series of special presentations. This content is designed to encourage the child of God to live a life characterized by faithfulness (1 Thessalonians 5:11), enlighten areas of the Christian life once shadowed in darkness by employing the light of God’s Word (Psalm 119:105), and empower soldiers of the Cross in the battle against the Wicked One (Ephesians 6:10). Each podcast is recorded with you in mind. The Light Network is a work produced by Christians for Christians.

The Light Network is a community; TLN is a haven where like-minded brethren can interact and correspond with one another. Each podcast is not a lecture; contrariwise, it is the beginning of a continuing conversation between the host and a broader Christian audience. We encourage you to interact with TLN through live chats, email, and even topic suggestions. Feel free to call or email those of us at TLN with input and encouragement. Be sure to subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The TLN Weekly. It is our earnest desire to make content that is both educational and engaging available to you.

As a network of podcasts, The Light Network offers shows that appeal to a broad demographic. For those interested in politics and modern culture, “Culture Shock with Torrey Clark” examines modern culture in light of the eternal Christ. “The Book Club with Brad McNutt” features contemporary and classic literature that can lead to deeper discipleship. “Biblical Manliness with Chris Clevenger” and “Preachers in Training with Robert Hatfield” equips men of God to be the fathers, elders, deacons, and men that God designed for them to be. Additionally, two podcasts are offered for our sisters in Christ. Emily Hatfield hosts “Navigating the New Testament,” a podcast where her love for travel and her love for the Biblical narrative are intertwined. Through “Under The Juniper Tree” Melissa Clevenger offers support and encouragement to faithful Christian women who struggle under the burden of clinical depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. “Ready to Worship” fills a vital niche by preparing the church on Saturday for worship on Sunday. “Are You Saved?” rounds out the programming by offering valuable Biblical answers to questions regarding salvation.

The Light Network is a family where kindred brethren can interact. Through a 21st Century medium, TLN addresses 21st Century issues with the 1st Century Revelation, the Word of God (2 Peter 1:3). The Light Network encourages, enlightens, and empowers men and women of God through relevant and timely discussions. Join us on January 5th as we go live with a special edition of “Ready for Worship” as well as interviews and discussions with all our hosts.
