The 22nd chapter of Genesis is a foundational chapter for all who would study worship. Although both true and false worship occurred before this chapter, the word “worship” appears for the first time in the Bible in this chapter (Gen. 22:5). The first use of any Biblical word is significant. It sets the tone for how that word will be used throughout the rest of Scripture. As we climb the mount with Abraham and Isaac and worship with them in this study, we will receive a first-rate education on what it means to worship God.
