Colossians is a “sister epistle” of Ephesians. In Ephesians, the church of Christ is put on display. In Colossians, the Christ of the church is emphasized. The church at Colossae was struggling with a unique false doctrine. To help combat the Colossians heresy, the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write Colossians which emphasizes the authority, supremacy, and sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
