Appetite/Weight Issues
o 1 Kings 19:5-8
o It cannot be helped but wonder if Elijah just stopped eating altogether.
o Was fed enough to help him over the next 40 days.
o People will often stop eating or start overeating.

Feelings of Hopelessness/Pessimism
o 1 Kings 19:10, 14
o The word jealous means zealous.
o “God, it’s hopeless…the whole of Israel is unfaithful, they do not care about worshipping you, and they murder anyone who preaches in your name. I’m the only one who is faithful.
o Notice the focus on the word “I.”
o We can easily fall into the realm of being self-centered while depressed.
